History
The U.S.S. Connor(NX-93762) has little to recommend it for history prior to coming under the command of Captain Rick Masters. The ship originated in the 31st century, and was granted to him by the Temporal Integrity Commission in furtherance of his duties as a Temporal Agent after the loss of his previous command, U.S.S. Orca (NCC-92139) defending the signing of the Temporal Accords.
It has proven virtually impossible to reverse engineer its technology. While many of the principles of the basic tools are the same as is used in current Starfleet vessels, there are many systems that defy explanation. Worse still, only the crew of the Connor has been able to work on the ship to repair and enhance its systems, likely the same way Captain Masters was acclimated to the present day from his 23rd century origins.
The ship and crew have already proven themselves in assorted actions, and remains on the front line of any temporal incursions.
Features
Chronos-class Features
The Chronos-class temporal dreadnought cruiser makes use of a number of exotic technologies that are worth mentioning here.
Connor is equipped with a tactical system stabilizer, which makes use of chronitons to cycle through weapons firing at an increased rate for a limited time. This gives the weaponry of the Connor more punch than might be expected. Another temporal-based system allows Connor to create a pair of causal anchors, temporal anomalies that have a "charge" that causes them to drift toward each other until they explode with significant force. Finally, a chronotachyon capacitor can be utilized to increase the ship's durability by manipulating temporal flow to "heal" the ship's hull, increase the energy to shields, and improve the accuracy of weapons.
Connor is also equipped with a photonic displacement device, which creates a holographic copy of the ship while masking the true ship from sensors, giving it a chance to pull back and repair while under fire. There are likely other technologies being utilized that are not yet fully understood, but give the ship increased durability and fighting power when needed.
The Connor has a captain's yacht (U.S.S. Champ, named for the ship lost in the 23rd century under Captain Masters) stored in the ventral shuttlebay.
Defense Systems
Connor does not use a standard array of phasers, as most of the ships in Starfleet. Instead, it uses a chroniton-based beam array of advanced nature, which interacts with the shielding and propulsion systems in a positive manner. Fore and aft, the ship is equipped with chroniton torpedoes, which again are designed to interact with the ship systems in a manner similar to the chroniton beam arrays.
Additionally, Connor makes use of a point-defense system which can take out approaching torpedoes or mines-or fighters-at a rate of fire that would be impossible for standard ship weaponry.
Connor, for all of its temporal-based equipment, still uses a covariant shield suite similar to most Starfleet vessels.
Engineering Systems
The Connor makes use of a subspace rift warp core, based heavily on the technologies discovered on the Solonae Dyson Sphere, has a standard hyper-injection warp core, although Commander Jacobson has done extensive modifications to the core.
The engines likewise are derived from Solonae technology, allowing incoming direct-energy attacks to be shunted from the shields into the engines for increased power. Additionally, the ship is equipped with advanced quantum slipstream drives, allowing vast areas of space to be traversed in a fraction of the time it would take at top warp velocities. The ship is also equipped with technology allowing it to access Starfleet's transwarp conduit network.
