Torg
Torg was my second D&D character. The campaign required players to make two characters, and turned out to be an extremely Monty Haul Campaign, and man, did it show for Torg. This was all the way back in 1st Edition, but he did get translated (and somewhat made a bit more sane) to 2nd Edition for a different Grayhawk campaign on the outside chance that I'd need him (never did, but always good to be prepared).

Description
Scarred features, wearing heavy plate mail. Black haired, grey eyed, Torg presents an ominous presence to the world. When in his assassin mode, he wears leather armor in order to use his thief skills. But he only does so when absolutely necessary.
Personality
Torg is still very evil. But he has a strange code of honor. He tries to fulfill the goals and desires of good, but he chooses very evil means to reach those goals. He will obey the law in any city he enters-within reason-but feels no need to obey any law but those he imposes upon himself when he is out of them. In the wild, anything is fair game.
He has few friends, though the mage Kontar is possibly the closest. There are others, and he has contacts with several members of the Scarlet Brotherhood-who don't fully trust him, but don't know enough to slay him immediately.

History
Torg was born in the Wild Coast, somewhere outside of the villages. He does not know his parents, who probably wouldn't admit to having had him in the first place. Torg was raised by a group of goblins, who taught him to hate the humans and demihumans of the Flanaess. Still, he wasn't quite able to develop the same distaste for them as the goblins did. After learning a bit of fighting and thieving technique from them, he parted ways with them, and ended up in the village Hommlet.
It was there that he ran across the assassins guild there, and he attempted to join it. Not really wanting him, they told him to kill the mighty sorcerer, Arstantauth. By use of trickery, poison, and the psionics he possessed, he managed to luck out and kill the wizard. The mage made some cryptic remarks about the Temple of Elemental Evil. Curious, Torg joined a party to find out what he could of it.
The adventure was more than he bargained for. Before it was over, he gained an artifact-the wand of Orcus-and gained the personal attention of the demon lord. He fought the demon Zuggtmoy in personal combat, and read a scroll with a curse involving six hundred and sixty six demons. After deciding that discretion was the better part of valor-not to mention the sheer self-preservation angle-he left the party to remove the various curses.
After gaining aid from a personage no less than the mage Jaran Krimeeah, the Mage of the Vale, he returned to the Wild Coast-to join again with one of his old comrades, the wizard Kontar. With him and others, they demolished a slaver operation, and gained the enmity of giants and drow. Torg was forcibly removed from the picture by a giantess who captured and tortured him. The rest of the party had no choice but to leave him.
Torg eventually escaped, and began to seek his fortune all over Oerik. After the Greyhawk Wars began, he was seen in Greyhawk City. He had heard that Kontar was seeking aid against Rary the Traitor. The two met, where Torg explained that he was on an unexplained quest, and thus could not aid Kontar. But he did leave word that he may meet with him again, if he could.
Rumors and Legends
Torg is said to have continued his ill fortune by making enemies of Iuz and the Scarlet Brotherhood. He traveled for a time with Kontar after a disaster in the Bright Desert, and vanished into the Outer Planes with the wizard...or so it is said. Some believe that he's retired out there, out of the reach of crazed assassins, amorous giantesses (don't ask), and enraged demigods-possibly in Sigil, or at the base of the Spire in the Outlands.
