Vicious Razor
- Honour and shame from no condition rise;
- Act well your part, there all the honour lies.
- —Alexander Pope, An Essay on Man, Epistle IV, line 193 (1733-34)
Vicious Razor had her origins in a short story I wrote for the character of the Old Ranger. She was interesting enough of a character that I had her reappear during the Justiciars "Injustice" open-RP, and not long after that I decided that she might actually interact with characters in-game-so accordingly, I made the character in the Rogue Islands. She never got to a level where I could make her an official "Rogue" able to go to Paragon City as well as the Isles, though.
Personality
Vicious Razor is a killer-or at least, that's the persona she has shown in the past. An opponent wishes you dead, you kill him first. That said, Razor seems to hold to a code of honor that at least holds some similarities to bushido. He has bound herself in service to General David Donnell, and while some might suggest that she loves him, the truth is that she very much respects a man willing to walk away from everything to do what he feels is right.
Strangely, Razor also holds honesty and truth as high virtues. This doesn't mean she is incapable of deception; lies of omission are fair game, and she does not feel that revealing the truth at a time that is disadvantageous to be a smart move. But if she tells someone something, one can be sure that she is not lying. Her ability to maintain deceptions even with this limitation is a testament to her skill at infiltration.
Powers
The nature of Vicious Razor's powers remains nebulous. The Old Ranger is fairly sure that they aren't technologically based, since she easily escaped a subspace snare designed by Emil Ehrlichmann. Accordingly, he is quite certain that her abilities are tied into magic in some way.
Dual Blades
Magic, however, does not explain her facility with the sword. She has been seen wielding a matched pair of ninjatō; at other times, however, she has used a pair of strangely shaped swords that do not seem to have a correspondance to a traditional blade. This makes it unlikely that the swords are magical in any way. The only thing they have in common is that she can use them to lethal effect when she chooses.
Ninjitsu
Neither, however, can her abilities with Ninjitsu be explained by magic-unless, of course, one views that shadowy art as magic. Certainly her ability to vanish from plain sight and remain hidden is nothing short of superhuman, but it can't definitively be called magical.
Additional Powers
Vicious Razor does have one ability, however, that could be pointed to as magic-although this is only conjecture, since she has never been seen to actually utilize such abilities. The Old Ranger theorized that he ability to escape even a subspace snare could be explained in this manner.
Teleportation
Razor may possess the ability to teleport herself short distances. If she has done so, then she has only done it under the cover of stealth.
Abilities
Razor is a skilled infiltrator in the classical sense: she can assume different personas to achieve her goals-and has proven capable of fooling the Fortunatas of Arachnos as to her motives. She also has a skillset that lends itself to breaking and entering, proven to work even in areas with high tech security systems.
Character History
The woman known as Vicious Razor has managed to remain under the radar, with little known of her past history prior to her first meeting with the Old Ranger. He encountered her in 2007 when she was working to retrieve an oil rumored to imbue complete invulnerability to its user; she simultaneously worked against and with the Ranger, acting on the behalf of Arachnos. She eventually let the Ranger take the oil in the end, ostensibly to attempt to steal later, but in reality to ensure that Arachnos didn't get it.
She was seen briefly later in 2007 warning the Ranger of the deception worked upon the world by Terrence Rihsen when he cast the Justiciars as villains. Despite the Ranger's efforts, she did not stick around to assist further. The Ranger would not hear from her again until 2010, after his return from temporal exile, where Razor revealed her affiliation with David Donnell. Despite the fact that they were considered on opposite sides after that encounter, she chose to let the Ranger go instead of attempting to kill him. This kept the two on at least non-lethal terms in 2011 when the Ranger encountered her again during an operation on a secret Arachnos base where the villains were developing weapons of mass destruction. This would be the last time Razor was encountered before the arrival of the Coming Storm.

Triva
Vicious Razor had her secret identity outed, ironically, by General Donnell-of Praetorian Earth. Her counterpart there was named as "Sword-Edge", and the General identified her by name to the Old Ranger, who was attempting to find a way back to Primal Earth at the time.
