Nightstar
Nightstar was my nod to the martial-artist hero. (And I had given him that name long before Kingdom Come was released by DC Comics!) Even then, I was hoping to defy some standard concepts, though. The idea was that he was primarily a precision/dodge sort of fighter, but he would be ignorant of the fact that he could absorb the kinetic energy of impacts, which meant he was tougher than he looked. I eventually tied that theme to his entire powerset-making him a highly *ahem* kinetic hero.
Later, I'd mess with his family tree, creating a brother and sister for him; in fact, his early motivations involved finding his missing sister, and his powers were originally given to him by his brother. And then I had him poisoned by an assassin from the ninja clan that had trained him-yeah, I sort of went insane with the backstory for this guy. I think if I'd gone any crazier, he would've ended up as my version of Wolverine.

Known Superhuman Powers: Nightstar's powers are mostly centered around kinetic energy. He can leap up to Incredible heights-40 ft. He is also capable of absorbing kinetic energy to heal himself up to Incredible. This energy also is used to enhance his natural fighting skills. He also has an unexplainable power to cause throwing stars-including the emblem on his uniform-to glow with a Typical intensity light.
Equipment: He has a set of shuriken, which are thrown for Typical damage each.
Other Abilities: Nightstar knows Martial arts A, B, and D, as well as tumbling. He is also fluent in the Russian language.
Contacts: While Nightstar could not use the Fist ninja clan as a contact, he made a friend in space named Greyshart, an alien martial artist who taught Nightstar Martial D. Nightstar may also be able to ask Mindstorm for help.
