Coreth's Cacophony of Characters (Cacophony) is a Wiki of fan-written material centered around an assortment of computer and pen-and-paper games.

Fair Use

Because it is assumed all material has some connection to a copyrighted and trademarked entity, all materials submitted fall under "Fair Use" guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Character Bios and Designs
  • Storylines
  • Weapon and Vehicle Designs
  • Organization descriptions, motivations, and directives

Please do not use any trademarked/copyrighted materials, except where permission is granted; please credit original authors/artists where known, and provide external hyperlinks to original works where appropriate.

No posted Cacophony materials may be used as part of a for-profit enterprise. If you're using Cacophony as a testbed for ideas for screenplays, novels, comics, or other for-profit work, please edit them so as to distinguish between the "Fair Use" version and your original work, OR grant explicit "Fair Use" permission for part or all of said work.

DMCA / Copyright Disputes

In order to comply with Digital Millennium Copyright Act requirements, we require written proof of prior art along with the request to comply, as well as explicit statements that "Fair Use" does not apply for said artwork/prose. Assertions of "prior art" without proof will not be honored.

  • In the case of disputes of trademark/intellectual property, Cacophony will comply with a sitting judge's ruling as to which party is the legal holder of the copyrighted materials, once court documentation has been supplied.
  • Until such a ruling has been made, the ORIGINAL Cacophony page author or uploading party will be given precedence, under "Fair Use" doctrine.
  • Alterations/deletions/defacement by parties other than the original author or uploading party will be considered vandalism, and be dealt with according to standing Cacophony policy.

DMCA compliance requests may be sent to Cacophony1@cox.net.

Please Note: At the discretion of the designated agent copyright violations will be removed from the site without prior warning.
