Astirth
- Right now, you're the closest thing the Empire has to a soul, Wrath. Without you, they'll forget themselves, fall apart.
- —Lana Beniko, Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011)
When designing my Sith Warrior, I wanted to make someone who wasn't the usual "kill kill kill" sort of Sith. I wanted someone who wasn't all about the Dark Side, but more about the things that the Jedi rejected. If a man embraced the Sith Code but didn't necessarily embrace the Dark, what would he become? Astirth was to be my answer.
Personality
Astirth would have probably made for a good Jedi, if it weren't for that "no emotion" garbage. Astirth isn't interested in serentiy-he lives for the battle, the conflict. The thrill of pitting himself against odds that nobody else would dare. The battle against the unbeatable. This is his meat and drink, and he goes into a fight with all his heart and soul.
But he is not a proponent of senseless cruelty. Astirth has shown compassion and even occasional mercy to opponents, and does not go out of his way to step on the weak. (Indeed, he has even freed a personal slave practically the minute he left Korriban.) He is rational, does not target innocents, and treats with others with respect-even if they are not his equals. This has made him well-liked among the Imperial military, and made him a subject of cautious curiosity among his fellow Sith. He's clearly favored by the Emperor, but it seems inevitable that someday, he will become the Sith's most dangerous enemy....
Abilities
Astirth is a devastatingly dangerous warrior, using a pair of lightsabers at once to lethal effect and a master of the Juyo form of lightsaber combat. The Force is a secondary weapon for him; he has no problem choking the life out of his enemies, but his primary use of it tends to be defensive in nature, gaining strength from the pain he inflicts upon his opponents.
Equipment
Astirth operates out of a Fury-class starship as he serves the Emperor. He makes use of a matched pair of lightsabers, which he keeps in near-perfect condition.
Trivia
Astirth's backstory is the story of the Sith Warrior in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game, with a somewhat Light-Side leaning bent (but with plenty of room for Dark-Side choices), based upon his personality above.
After the events of Shadow of Revan, he would cast aside his title of "Emperor's Wrath" in favor of "The Empire's Wrath", as he turned against the Sith Emperor upon learning of his plans to exterminate all life. However, after the events of Knights of the Fallen Empire, he has cast aside all titles save for "Darth".
