Rickard

Rickard was developed for a short lived campaign for a setting that was developed by Paizo (prior to Pathfinder, as I recall). The campaign was mostly a way for a player to cut his teeth as a DM. Eventually we returned to our usual rotation of DMs, and this campaign-and Rickard-fell to the wayside.

Description

Lean, dark haired, and gray-eyed, Rickard wears dark leather armor to better fit in with the shadows. While he is slight of build, he does have the appearance of someone who has kept himself in shape-mainly in upper body, as he tends to do a lot of climbing in his profession.

Personality

Rickard knows he's got the potential to be the best burglar in the city-and it shows in his confidence levels. While he's not completely comfortable with the "adventurer's lifestyle", he does tend to act professionally when he gets a job.

Rickard also has a bit of an interest in magic, and recently began learning some from wizards who don't care so much about formal apprenticeships or worry about the use to which the magics will be put to.

History

Rickard was born to a life of crime, as both his parents were, in fact, criminals. His mother was a con artist, while his father...well, he's not sure about that, and neither is his mother, given her wild ways when she was younger. He eventually discovered a knack for dealing with mechanical traps, which helped set his life's course.

Becoming a burglar, he did a respectable business, but felt that he wasn't exactly rolling in gold. He figures sooner or later, he'll make his "big heist", and that'll be the end of his career-nothing else would have the same thrill. His love of risky behavior would hate that-so he decided to hang around adventurer taverns to get in on some "adventures". This led him to an adventure to explore the ruins under the city of Jzadirune, but a hidden link in his ancestry seems to be working against him there, as he found that he has an uneasiness whenever he goes within. Unbeknownst to him, he is a Child of Jzadirune, which makes him resistant to diseases, but afflicts him with a penalty to fear of things diseased or capable of inflicting disease.

The campaign was put on hiatus for the long term.
