Idievak (TOR)
- Do you give up and let evil win, or stand up and fight?
- —Jedi Knight, Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011)
- This article refers to the Jedi Knight in Star Wars: The Old Republic. For the musician in Star Wars Galaxies, see Idievak Bialar.
It's not the first time I've reused an SWG name; Idievak had a fairly peace-loving counterpart in SWG. In the Old Republic, however, he's full-blown hero mode.
Personality
Idievak is a Jedi who would prefer peace to war, but has decided that if war must be done, it must be done effectively. In short, while he won't be the first to activate his lightsaber, he'll be last to be standing afterward.
Despite the Jedi Council's stand on attachment, Idievak has found himself very attached to those who have traveled with him, even falling in love with one (ironic, since he had warned a pair of Padawans on Tython against that sort of thing). This remains his blind spot in his otherwise-unwavering support of the Jedi Code. This attachment has caused him to be unwilling to sacrifice his friends for what some would call "the greater good". The fact that he has, thus far, succeeded in preserving their lives and finishing his missions has kept any rumblings from the Jedi Council quiet. Of course, with the Jedi in disarray after the conquest of the Eternal Empire, the only voice Idievak has left to advise him is that of his own conscience. So far, it seems to be up to the task.
Abilities
As a Jedi Sentinel, Idievak prefers a more physical combat style than that of the more Force-oriented Jedi. Not for nothing was he named a Battlemaster of the Jedi. The Force was used to supplement his attacks and protect him from harm, not to mention pull off such feats as throwing both lightsabers at a distant target and drawing them back to his hands.
Equipment
Idievak fights with a pair of lightsabers, dual wielding the weapons as per his training.
To transport Idievak and his allies, he relies upon his Jedi Defender starship to cross the stars..
Trivia
Idievak's backstory is the story of the Jedi Knight in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game. His choices have invariably been Light Side, as one of the Good Guys.
