City of Heroes

The characters listed in this portal were created for the MMORPG City of Heroes. I had first encountered the game in 2006, but decided not to play it due to issues I was having with the controls (especially the mouse controls). I returned to try it again in 2007 after spending some time in World of Warcraft, and learning I could reconfigure the mouse direction to make it work like I was accustomed to, and things took off.

I originally played on the Protector server, for no particular reasons except it was there, but after a few months, decided I wanted to try my hand at roleplay on the unofficial RP server, Virtue. And the end result brought us to the many characters here, both heroic and villainous and shades in between.

Virtue That Was

The heroes seen here were developed on the Virtue server, which was the unofficial role-playing server of the game.

A City of Heroes

The heroes!

These are the characters who were based in Paragon City, the titular City of Heroes. Each had their own shades of heroism, from the street level heroes to the ones capable of standing against universe shattering threats-and defeating them!

In the Shadow of the City

Not all characters in Paragon City were pure; some walked in the shadows and darkness to fight evil on its home ground!

A City of Villains

The villains!

These are the characters who were based in the Rogue Islands, the setting for the City of Villains expansion (before both games were folded together). The villains could rob banks, or try to rule the world-or even damn immortal souls!

Life on the Fringes

In the Rogue Islands, not all of the superhumans were interested in villainy. Some were determined to make their own mark, with no loyalty except those they chose for themselves-and happy to work with heroes as much as villains!

A Parallel World

Before its destruction, superhumans flourished in Nova Praetoria! Some would fight for freedom against its rulers-and some served the regime of Emperor Cole!

Miscellaneous Documentation

There are a couple of documents written to supplement these character sheets. The first is a document I used in RP to make sure that I knew exactly what a character was capable of doing-so I didn't end up pulling powers out of his posterior. The second is a general timeline of events concerning these characters.

Organized Superpowers

I was involved in a leadership role in two supergroups (CoH's version of guilds). One was duly recognized by the United Nations and chartered to fight villainy all over the world; the other was an independent organization that centered its work in Paragon City.

Beyond those groups, I had characters in a significant number of other teams-including one group of villains!

Everlasting

The Everlasting server is another RP server, where the characters above never existed! This is a new legacy of heroism, and villainy!

Organized Superpowers

Even in an everlasting city, there are always groups that band together for the common good...or at least common wealth-redistribution.
